Parkmobile and Village of Great Neck Plaza Introduce Mobile Payments for Parking
Village of Great Neck Plaza, NY – September 12, 2016— Parkmobile, LLC, the leading provider of on-demand and prepaid mobile payments for on- and off-street parking, announced today its partnership with the Village of Great Neck Plaza to provide mobile payments for parking to its residents and visitors. This pilot program will be rolled out in the next few weeks on 3 off-street locations containing 300+ spaces, and the app will be available for customers using Parkmobile’s app for iPhone, Android, and Windows phones.
“We are implementing this program as a means to make parking easier, more customer-friendly and incorporating technology, which is the way consumers now want to purchase items,” stated Village of Great Neck Plaza Mayor, Jean Celender. “With the Parkmobile app, parking patrons can easily manage their time appropriately and avoid having to run out of an appointment or lunch date to pay their meter.”
Parkmobile’s mobile payments system is very simple and easy to use. Customers first must register by downloading the mobile app in their phone’s app store or online at www.parkmobile.com. Once registered, they may use the mobile app, internet, or the toll-free number listed on signage to pay for parking. After setting up their account, customers can immediately start using the system with their registered mobile phone. Mobile app users may also choose to receive alerts and reminders 15 minutes prior to their parking session expiring –provided a user hasn’t reached the maximum parking duration.
“We are excited to launch our service in the Village of Great Neck Plaza to give its residents and visitors an easier, faster way to pay for parking,” said Jon Ziglar, CEO of Parkmobile, LLC. “Relieving customers of having to carry coins, and instead pay from their phones, makes paying for parking simple and convenient, truly enhancing the customer parking experience.”
This convenient service also provides customers the ability to receive alerts when their meter time is about to expire, extend their time remotely without returning to the meter, as well as print and keep receipts for parking. Additionally, enforcement officers will be able to see that a motorist has paid with Parkmobile using their wireless handheld devices, so customers should not worry when the meter does not change. Parkmobile’s mobile payment solution is an added payment option and is intended to complement existing parking payment options. All existing forms of payment are still valid for use.
With the most widely used mobile parking solution in the country and 5 million people using Parkmobile’s services over 30 million times per year, Parkmobile is excited to make a difference leveraging our large network of users.
