Parkmobile, LLC brings Mobile Payments for Parking to Clearwater, Florida

July 6, 2015

Delivers the convenience of mobile payments for parking so that residents, businesses, and visitors will be able to conduct parking transactions by mobile phone.

Clearwater, FL – July 6, 2015—Parkmobile, LLC announced today that its mobile payments system will be available starting Thursday, July 9 throughout the city of Clearwater. The new service is an alternative to using coins at the meters, and will be available on all on-street meters and multi-space lots in the downtown and beach areas. Customers will be able to pay for parking from their smartphones by downloading Parkmobile’s mobile apps for iPhone, Android, Windows, Blackberry, and Amazon Fire smartphones.

“Clearwater is one of the country’s most popular beach destinations, and tens of thousands of visitors come to our city and its beautiful beaches each year,” said George N. Cretekos, Mayor of Clearwater. “With the Parkmobile technology, Clearwater is making paying parking fees on its beach and downtown areas easier and more convenient.”

"We are very excited to partner with Clearwater to offer this technology,” said Cherie Fuzzell, CEO of Parkmobile, LLC. “Our service makes paying for parking fast and simple, enhancing the customer parking experience. We believe customers in the city will truly appreciate and enjoy the convenience of paying for parking from their smartphones.”

Parkmobile’s mobile payment system is simple and easy to use. Customers can register online at www.parkmobile.com or by downloading the mobile app in their phone’s app store. Once registered, they may use the mobile app, internet, or a toll-free number to pay for parking.

Once a customer’s account is set up, they can instantly begin using the system with their registered mobile phone. Using a wireless handheld device, enforcement officers will know that a motorist has paid with the Parkmobile app, so customers should not worry if the meter does not change to reflect their time. As an added bonus, mobile app users have the option to receive alerts and reminders 15 minutes prior to the expiration of their parking session. Time limits on meters still apply and the Parkmobile app will not allow users to purchase more time than allotted by the meters.
