New parking locations give Philadelphia residents and visitors the option to pay for parking from their smartphone around the city.
Philadelphia, PA – May 5th, 2015—Parkmobile, LLC, the leading provider of on-demand and prepaid mobile payments for on- and off-street parking, announced today that its mobile payments solution is now available at 1,000 off-street parking spaces managed by SP+ in Philadelphia. Customers will be able to pay for parking from their smartphones by downloading Parkmobile’s mobile applications for iPhone, Android, Windows, Blackberry, and Amazon Fire smartphones.
"We are excited to expand our mobile payments solution in Philadelphia,” said Cherie Fuzzell, CEO of Parkmobile, LLC. “Our customers have access to our services at more than 4,000 spaces managed and/or operated by SP+, Parkway, Towne Park, and other operators. Our continuous efforts to increase our footprint throughout Philadelphia will make our service more ubiquitous. Our technology offers customers a more convenient way to pay for parking which makes our lives a little bit easier and more efficient.”
Parkmobile’s mobile payment system is simple and easy to use. Customers can register online at www.parkmobile.com or download the mobile app in their phone’s app store. Once registered, they may use the mobile app, internet, or a toll-free number to pay for parking. The newest off-street lots are located at 6th and South, University Square, 23rd and Arch, and Camden Plaza.
Once a customer’s account is set up, they can instantly begin using the system with their registered mobile phone. Using a wireless handheld device, enforcement officers will know that a motorist has paid with the Parkmobile app, so customers should not worry if the meter does not change. As an added bonus, mobile app users have the option to receive alerts and reminders 15 minutes prior to expiration of their parking session. Time limits on meters still apply and the Parkmobile app will not allow users to purchase more time than allotted by the meters.
