Parkmobile, LLC Partners with City of Northampton to Bring Mobile Payments for Parking to the Entire City
Coming soon, Parkmobile app will allow customers to use their mobile devices to easily pay for parking – supplementing the use of credit cards or coins
Northampton, MA – August 25, 2017 - Parkmobile, LLC and the city of Northampton announced today a partnership that will soon allow customers to use their mobile devices to pay for parking at approximately 1,500 metered spaces throughout Northampton. The service will be launched in September. Customers can pay for parking with their mobile devices using Parkmobile’s mobile applications for iPhone, Android, and Windows phones .
To use the Parkmobile system, customers can register for free through the app or at www.parkmobile.com. Once registered, they may use the app, internet, or call toll-free to pay for parking. Time will not display on the meter, but enforcement officers will be able to see that a motorist has paid with Parkmobile using a wireless handheld device and the parker’s license plate number. Mobile app users may also choose to receive alerts prior to their parking session expirating. Time limits on meters still apply and the app will not allow users to purchase more time than allotted by the meters.
“Northampton has made significant investments in our parking system to make it more user-friendly and expand payment options for residents and visitors,” said Mayor David Narkewicz. “We’re excited to partner with Parkmobile to now offer the additional convenience of a mobile parking app.”
“Parkmobile is honored to partner with a forward-thinking city to bring forward ease-free parking,” said Jon Ziglar, CEO of Parkmobile. “We are thrilled to partner with the City of Northampton to offer this service, which uses cutting-edge technology to enhance the parking experience by eliminating the archaic practice of swiping a card or feeding coins to a meter. Parkmobile looks forward to working with Northampton over the coming weeks to offer drivers a more convenient means of parking.”
