Parkmobile, LLC partners with city of Winchester to introduce mobile parking payments

The Parkmobile app will now allow customers to pay for parking using their mobile devices in the city of Winchester 

Winchester, VA – September 25, 2017 – Parkmobile, LLC and the City of Winchester announced today a partnership that will soon allow customers to use their mobile devices to pay for parking. This new service will be available at all coin meters on-street and in parking lots throughout Winchester (approximately 568 metered parking spaces).  The service is now available.

“The Winchester Parking Authority is always looking for new and innovative ways to make parking in Old Town Winchester as convenient as possible,” stated Samantha Anderson, Winchester Parking Authority Executive Director. “The new Parkmobile app will allow parkers to pay by cell and provide a variety of ways to pay for metered parking other than using coins.”

Customers can pay for parking on their mobile devices using Parkmobile’s mobile applications for iPhone, Android and Windows 7. Additionally, customers can use Masterpass, PayPal, Visa Checkout, Chase Pay, Parkmobile Wallet, and coming soon - Apple Pay, to pay for parking.

To use the Parkmobile system, customers can register free at www.parkmobile.com or through the Parkmobile app on their mobile device. Once registered, they can use the mobile app, internet or call toll-free to pay for parking. After setting up their account, customers can immediately begin using the system with their registered mobile device. Enforcement officers will be able to see that a motorist has paid with Parkmobile using a wireless handheld device. Mobile app users may also choose to receive alerts and reminders 15 minutes prior to expiration of their parking session. The mobile app will provide one maximum time extension, for example, if a meter is two hours then the customer can re-up through pay by cell for two additional hours at premium rate when utilizing Parkmobile.
