Medford, MA - August 12, 2015—Parkmobile, LLC and Republic Parking in Medford have partnered together to provide a program that will allow customers to use their mobile devices to pay for parking in the 1,000 on-street parking spaces throughout the city. The application, called ParkMedford, is a customized, white-labeled solution for Parkmobile. Customers using the ParkMedford app will be able to pay for parking with their smartphones using mobile applications for iPhone and Android. Furthermore, Parkmobile customers from other vicinities will also be able to pay for parking in Medford using their current Parkmobile account.
“Park Medford is dedicated to enhancing the parking experience for all citizens and patrons,” said Dan Nash, District Manager. “Using the ParkMedford or Parkmobile app on your cell phone provides a convenient, quick, and easy way to pay for your parking anywhere in the City of Medford. Once you have paid for your parking using the app, you don't have to leave your vehicle in that one space but can park all over the city for the duration of your paid time."
“Parkmobile is thrilled to provide a customized mobile payment application for the City of Medford,” said Cherie Fuzzell, CEO of Parkmobile, LLC. “We believe that customers will enjoy the convenience of paying from their smartphones. They no longer have to swipe a card or insert coins into a meter. Our service makes paying for parking fast and simple, enhancing the customer parking experience.”
The ParkMedford app functions similarly to Parkmobile’s mobile payment system and is simple to use. Customers register online at www.parkmedford.org or download the mobile app in their phone’s app store. Once registered, they may use the mobile app, internet, or a toll free number to pay for parking. Customers without an iPhone or Android smartphone may still use the Parkmobile app to pay for parking in Medford.
After setting up their account, customers can immediately start using the system with their registered mobile device. Enforcement officers will be able to see that a motorist has paid with ParkMedford using a wireless handheld device, so customers should not worry if the meter does not change. Mobile app users may also choose to receive alerts and reminders 15 minutes prior to expiration of their parking session. Time limits on meters still apply and the ParkMedford app will not allow users to purchase more time than allotted by the meters.
Parkmobile, LLC is the leading provider of on-demand and prepaid mobile payments for on- and off-street parking. Their services are used in more than 1,400 locations in the U.S. by millions of registered users.
