Parkmobile USA, Inc. Launches its Mobile Payment Solutions in St. Louis, Missouri
Mobile app allows customers to use smartphones to pay for parking - No need for quarters to feed parking meters!
St. Louis, MO - November 19, 2014,-- Parkmobile USA, Inc. announced today a program that will allow customers to use their mobile phones to pay for parking at all of the metered spaces throughout St. Louis over the coming months. Customers can now pay for parking with their smartphones using Parkmobile’s mobile applications for iPhone, Android, Windows, and Blackberry phones.
Parkmobile was chosen to be the mobile payment provider for parking in St. Louis after a six month field test of various parking technologies. Parkmobile is currently being rolled out in downtown St. Louis and is expected to be up and running citywide by the end of this year.
“Our goal is to create a modern, customer friendly parking operation for the City of St. Louis,” said Tishaura O. Jones, Treasurer of the City of St. Louis. “We are pleased that Parkmobile is part of our team as we work to move St. Louis parking into the 21st century.”
"Parkmobile is extremely excited to be launching our mobile payment parking service in St. Louis" said Cherie Fuzzell, CEO of Parkmobile USA, Inc. “After a very successful pilot program earlier this year, we look forward to offering our technology to St. Louis. We believe that by eliminating the need to swipe a card or feed coins to a meter, our service enhances the parking experience for consumers.”
Parkmobile’s mobile payment system is very simple and easy to use. Customers need only to register online at www.parkmobile.com or download the mobile app in their phone’s app store. Once registered, they may use the mobile app, internet, or a toll free number to pay for parking. After setting up their account, customers can immediately start using the system with their registered mobile phone. Enforcement officers will be able to see that a motorist has paid with Parkmobile using a wireless handheld device, so customers should not worry if the meter does not change. Mobile app users may also choose to receive alerts and reminders 15 minutes prior to expiration of their parking session. Time limits on meters still apply and Parkmobile will not allow users to purchase more time than allotted by the meters.
