Lewes, Delaware, September 26, 2014-- Parkmobile USA, Inc. and the city of Lewes announced today a service that allows customers to use their mobile phones to pay for parking throughout the city. Customers can now pay for parking with their mobile phone using Parkmobile’s mobile applications for the iPhone, Android, Windows, and Blackberry phones.
“The City of Lewes is excited to launch Parkmobile, a new service to the visitors, residents, and businesses of Lewes,” says Paul Eckrich, City Manager at Lewes City Hall. “The city solicited several vendors over the summer and decided Parkmobile was the best fit for Lewes. Many of our visitors and residents are familiar with the application since neighboring communities, such as Rehoboth Beach and Bethany Beach, also use the service. We look forward to working with Parkmobile to continue to provide cutting edge technologies to our constituents.”
To use Parkmobile’s mobile payment system, customers can register at www.parkmobile.com or download the mobile app in their phone’s app store. Once registered, they may use the mobile app, internet, or a toll free number to pay for parking. After setting up their account, customers can immediately start using the system with their registered mobile phone. They may even select the option to receive notifications 15 minutes prior to the expiration of their parking session.
"Parkmobile is thrilled to launch our mobile payment parking service in the city of Lewes," said Cherie Fuzzell, CEO of Parkmobile USA, Inc. “We are excited to partner with the city to offer this technology which enhances the parking experience by eliminating the need to swipe a card or feed coins to a meter.
